You’re not the only one - confused, overwhelmed and procrastinating!

Hi Home Lovers!

In the lead up to workshops starting in a few weeks, I want to share with you some great conversations I've had recently to encourage you on your journey towards creating your dream home, and to remind you - you’re not alone.

I don't think we as women understand how many other women feel just like we do – frustrated, overwhelmed and confused about our personal styles and how to create that beautiful home we crave so strongly.

That’s why I want you to join us in class - because I KNOW 100% I can get you past the obstacles standing in your way – the fears, the uncertainties and your procrastination -  and help you move on to success no matter what your home project is.

In these workshops you’ll learn the essential information you need to move forward and think more critically with a better understanding of the core principles of design. We start with the nucleus - your personal story, identify your design style and then we zoom out to create a big picture for your entire home.  This is what you need if you're going to achieve your dream home with no regrets.

Let me share these conversations with you - we can learn so much from talking and listening to each other.

#1 Stuck achieving nothing…

When speaking to a shop owner recently, while handing out flyers for classes - this lady runs a very stylish fashion store - she saw my classes and said “I need to take this! My home is a @#$#$@! I've been wanting to finish it off for years and I'm just so confused about my style. I have a partner who thinks the opposite so we just get stuck achieving nothing. My colours are all over the place, I haven't purchased anything new for ages because I'm so confused and I don’t want to make mistakes!”

Sound familiar?  I hope to be seeing her in my class soon.

“Thank you Linda for providing such a fun and informative course. I thoroughly enjoyed both part 1 and part 2, and really found above all else your passion for design and interiors infectious! Can't believe so much was covered in the 6 weeks and enjoyed every class! Thanks again xx”

#2 I like too many things…

I had a call during the week from a prospective client and she also expressed her frustration. They had purchased a home a few years back, always with the idea to renovate, and she wanted to tackle it in stages. But she too just couldn't move ahead, scared to start any upgrades in case she made mistakes. She knew she needed a big picture, a masterplan, before she did anything.

When I asked her what her style was - she said “I’m so confused because I like so many things, I can't actually hone it down to one core style.” I said “Join me in class and let’s get this sorted!”

I hear these conversations again and again. This is why, on top of my own project work, I teach workshops because I can help so many more people.

#3 Everything has meaning…

I'll contrast these with a conversation I had with a few local artists. They love that I start my workshops with personal story and make this the centre of everything.  They talked about their own homes, how they’re FULL of stories, everything has meaning and their homes are a complete self portrait.

They shared with me how their own workshop students are always saying “I can't draw, I can't do art,” and they just get stuck, frozen because they’re expecting perfection straight away. So in class they teach their students how to let go, stop being scared of failure, stop comparing themselves to others - just have fun and enjoy themselves and learn to create without being perfectionists.

They said, it’s like people need PERMISSION to be themselves! I loved that.

Interactive and 1-on-1 guidance.

This is the attitude I want to teach in class - that your homes are your personal sanctuaries and they should be a place where you tell your own personal story and your family’s stories. They are not galleries and they don’t have to be perfect. You just need to make a start and give yourself the permission to play, to experiment and just try things out.

However… just like art, you do need to learn the essential methods, a set of instructions, a framework to guide you. And I know there’s a difference between a bad DIY painting that you can hideaway and your own home that surrounds you everyday.

You need to learn how to tell your personal design story, understand why you love what you love and what makes up your core style, essential design principles and how to actually put this all into practise.  Then comes the experimentation process – the playing, the trying out – as you refine your own approach to making a beautiful home.

“Linda is warm and engaging and takes a personal interest in everyone, their story and where they are going with their styling… I've really appreciated her help and guidance and have learnt heaps in doing the course! I'm doing part 2 but feel like I would have loved to have done part 1 also! I'm really looking forward to seeing all that I've learnt come together in our new home.”

Take note  – your OWN approach! These classes are about you identifying your own style – not just aesthetics, but what story do you want your home to tell?

Once you get these foundations right, you won't get distracted by other styles, you won't waste money on purchases that aren't really you.  You’ll know your personal story and you’ll be able to create a home that is an absolute reflection of you and your family -  you’ll feel it in your bones!

This is a hands on class and we get very crafty!

So no matter the type of home project, whether it's cosmetic upgrades, renovating or building new, even looking to buy a new home - let me help you achieve the core knowledge you need to go forward and achieve your dream home.

I really hope to see you in class soon.
