About the project
MODERN english country RENOVATION – helena valley, Wa
Pauline and John purchased a “city” home in the foothills of Perth for visiting from their farm in Hyden, a few hours away. With grown children spread out and the tribe of grandkids growing, their dream was to create a warm and loving centre for the extended family. While their new home had great bones and plenty of space, both the layout and style were very dated. This was the opportunity to create the beautiful English country home that Pauline had been dreaming of for a long time.

Firstly, we reconfigured the central layout to an open plan with improved flow and open views. Next we breathed character in by revitalising all the key spaces starting with a kitchen makeover and built in cabinetry in nature’s tones, timber flooring, feature farmhouse lighting and timber beams to an overlooked raked ceiling. An essential change was the transforming the front entry – your first introduction to the home. To create a unique look and feel, Julie and I worked closely together for over a year to select a range of furnishings, many of them custom made, to express her Modern Farmhouse style with vintage accents throughout, creating a timeless lived-in feel.
What home-owners Pauline and John had to say about the project
“Linda was exceptional in her collaboration and understanding of what we were hoping to achieve with the renovations. Engaging Linda's help was the best decision we made. Through her guidance in interior design, exterior design, construction and furnishings, she has enabled us to create a space that we love and that suits our needs… Simply put, Linda demonstrated a high level of knowledge and skill which in return provided us with expert guidance and advice in achieving the outcome we were dreaming of.”
